Located within the Maya Sanur Resort area, RUE had one perception to overcome: hotel restaurant. And with that comes the assumption of being expensive, formal, and perhaps a little exclusive. But that wasn’t the kind of place RUE wanted to be. The idea was to create somewhere that felt open and easy to walk into, whether you were staying at the hotel, meeting friends for coffee, looking for breakfast, having dinner with family, or simply passing by. Rather than designing RUE around the typical hotel restaurant aesthetic, we approached it more like a modern lifestyle brand, something with enough personality to catch your eye from the street, but flexible enough to become part of everyday life.
